AmeriCorps* VISTA
SIPA was the lead agency for the first-ever Historic Filipinotown AmeriCorps*VISTA consortium funded by the Corporation for National & Community Service from 2005-2008.  Along with Filipino American Service Group, Inc. (FASGI) and Pilipino Workers Center (PWC) - the consortium facilitated the participation of over a dozen VISTA volunteers over the three years of the federally-funded program

Unfortunately, since that program ended in 2008, SIPA is not currently a participating VISTA-site.  If you represent an agency that would like to include SIPA as an AmeriCorps*VISTA agency partner - please contact Dorothy Gamoning, Director of Administration at (213)382-1819 x120.

NATIONAL ASIAN PACIFIC CENTER FOR AGING (NAPCA)

NAPCA and SIPA have a long working relationship and many NAPCA-funded senior voluneers have been placed at and occasionally been recruited to work at SIPA. Currently in 2009, there are two NAPCA placements at SIPA.
