AmeriCorps*
VISTA
SIPA provides opportunities
for participants involved in the AmericCorps* VISTA
(Volunteers in Service to America) program, run by the Corporation for
National & Community Service, the National Asian Pacific Center for Aging
(NAPCA), and local colleges and universities. Individuals taking part in VISTA
spend one year as a full-time intern at SIPA and receive a stipend from the
federal government. VISTA interns gain a wealth of experience working at SIPA,
learning first-hand knowledge of how a non-profit is run and training in
important areas of the organization, such as fundraising, events and
programming.
